Summary: Reviewed: Zyxel NSA325. It supports 2 x 3.5" SATA drives, has 2 USB2 ports (back) and a single USB3 (front) & has Gigabit Ethernet. 1.6GHz Marvell processor is faster than older NAS devices (faster than the 800MHz CPU in the D-LINK DNS-320 or the 1.2GHz CPU in the DNS-325) and 512MB memory allows multiple functions at same time. DRIVE INSTALLATION: Drive guide rails must be attached to each drive via screws. Note that the pointy end of the rails must face INWARD (i.e.
Summary: I originally purchased the NSA221 last fall but due to the flooding in Thailand I did not get the HDDs since the prices were too outrageus. Now they are finally coming back down and I just got two Hitachi Deskstar 7200 RPM 2 TB HDDs for use in the NSA221 in a RAID 1 (mirroring) configuration. Initial setup was easy. I attached the rails to the drives, slid them into the case, powered up and it was ready.
Summary: The NAS server arrived with old firmware. This was no problem, as the Admin utillity, provided allowed for easy updating. I installed an old 250G and a new 2Tb drive. I then formated the drives which took about 2 hours, I don't really know exactly how long, I didnt pay that close attention. I used JBOD to maximize disk space. The transfer rate is plenty fast enough to play video (wmv, vob) over wireless N.
Summary: This is a very good product, it does what they say and it is easy to install and configure. I wish they could integrate nativelly with MAC OS in order I can use the time capsule. Actually it was a doubt I had when I was deciding buying this product. Fortunatelly you can map the network drive in MAC OS (using SMB protocol) in order you can access the data using Finder application. I am quite happy.
Summary: This is the first NAS I purchased and installed. And it goes on the first homewide wired network I installed. Out of the box the instructions were clear and simple. Mechanics were straight forward. I installed two 2TB Seagate Barracuda Green drives. Then the software was loaded, the device pluged into the network via ethernet cord. It booted as expected and the management software worked fine.
Overall good NAS for non-HD streaming or power users.

Summary: I must admit, this was my first foray into the world of NAS. After doing some research I happened to find this unit on sale here at Amazon. Despite some of the reviews that talked about slow transfer speeds, I pulled the trigger. We mainly use the NAS to stream our MP3 collection to our Logitech Squeezebox Radio Music Player with Color Screen (Black) It's also used to transfer print files to a RIP server in a different part of our home. It works great for both.
Summary: I have two 2TB hard drives running in RAID 0 and it's working out great for me. All the extra storage makes a world of difference. Unit does a good job staying cool and it not too loud given the small fan, especially if you can hide it in a corner. Setup process takes some time but is intuitive for someone with average computer skills. Once set up, you will have a choice to create different folder for movies, music, public, etc.
Summary: Pros: Best value among the similar products. Super fast shipping by Amazon. Easy hard drive install. Easy internet setup. Convenient usb port for storage expansion. Cons: No direct usb connection to pc. Internet access to the files is complicated to set up. Slow data transfer. 180Gb data takes 3 hours for transfer from pc. Some of the reviewers stated that the USB rate is only 1/3 of the Ethernet.
Up and running in no time,. Still have room for improvement.

Summary: I got the nsa320 to replace my mvixbox when it stopped working. It was not as expensive as some of the other ones. I also have 2 other NSA disks. The installation was easy but not as easy as the mvix. The enclosure was plastic and did not feel as solid. However, this is the type of device you only need to open up once if it working right. I put in 2 1tb disks and run them in raid mode. The internal drives are working fine.
Summary: My only problem with this unit is that the media server does not recognize certain large video files (ie movies in HD). I bought this thing to back up my computers and to stream media to my PS3. It took almost no effort at all to get my pictures and mp3s to appear on my PS3 and my big screen. I have a few large movies (>4 GB) that I saved onto the NAS but would not show up on the PS3 menu or when I connected to the media server through my PC.
