Summary: First off, when you plug in the hard drive you feel like the whole bay will break, and then you set it up, waiting forever at it "reboots" for hours. Then it locks you out saying you have an incorrect password, even after you set it multiple times. I have been years of experience including server systems...this is a piece of junk.
Good device if you understand it's use and it's price point

Summary: Just received this early today. Made sure to update the firmware first thing. Using this primarily as a file for DVD/BR, backup device with Acronis True Image, and the add-on package "Gallery" for hosting photos and videos online since I have hit my limit with Flickr. Setup was easy. A simple TCP/IP assignment and it was on my network. Setup for Jumbo frame support and I am seeing writes in the neighborhood of 18MB / second. It's acceptable but no way optimal.
Summary: great dlna server for the price but requires a certain type of hdd. I wanted to use the hard drive from my old computer but it was not compatible with the server. I had to buy another hard drive which was about another hundred dollars. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON WHAT THE SERVER REQUIRES BEFORE BUYING!
Summary: 1. slooooooowwwwww[...] sometimes i had to reboot to get it unstuck 2. native torrent/emule is not useful. 3. native backup just wouldn't work. i wish i got paid for the hours i spent trying. 4. the positive, i bot my hd b4 the monsoon, woot. 5.
Summary: I don't review things to often but I got to say this device impressed me so much for the price that I had to. The software is a little lame in fact im not even using it, but other than that I have nothing but good things to say. Out of the box it took about a min to put in a drive and my Mac recognized the dive on the network immediately. I average about 15 Mb on transfers and haven't had to reboot it yet.
