Good for what it is

Brian C., Newegg
11 March 2008
  • Summary: While the data transfer speeds are not screaming, this little box does exactly what its supposed to do. I installed 4 500G Western Digital drives, told it to config as Raid 5 and let it do its thing. Sure the RAID build is slow but its a one-time setup so who cares?
  • Pros: compact size, easy to setup, versatile
  • Cons: not a speed demon

  • Cons: The Lan port and the Wan ports have to be on different subnets. I found this very annoying. Maybe I wanted to use both nics internally. Once configured, I created a map drive to the nas and tried to pass a file and got an error "Drive as become disconnected". I couldnt fix this issue and has to s...

Very Slow

Daniel B., Newegg
10 November 2007
  • Pros: Quiet
  • Cons: Very slow read/write operations on a gigabit network. Was unable to maintain multiple read/write operations at the same time.
