Summary: I purchased the D509+ and extension unit DX5 about 2 years ago. Both units performed fine (albeit slow writing because I've got it running in RAID5 mode). About 4 weeks ago one of the drives died and I tried to replace the dead 1.5TB with a 3.0TB.
Summary: One of the worst NAS I've bought - spent countless hours - tuned out a brand-new unit was faulty. On top of the hardware issue, customer support is terrible. Untrained professional who just drew party line rather than helping solve customer problem. Guy named Andy wouldn't xfer to support manager!
Summary: I bought one of these units, installed two 2 TB hard drives, plugged it in and tried to power it on. The blue light came on, but went off after a few seconds. I then called Amazon, who kindly sent me a replacement unit.
