Summary: This has been very easy to setup and use. Quickly installed 2 3TB WD Red drives - bought as separate purchase from amazon. Easy installation. I've now got my stuff properly backed up and with regular easy incremental backups configured too.
Summary: I bought this NAS along with two 2.5 inch disks after a colleague recommended Synology. Unfortunately the DS213 is designed for 3.5 inch disks and you have to buy adaptors to mount 2.5 inch disks.
Summary: After some research I bought this since it was recommended in the usual placers on the web. Unfortunately, I was taken by these reviews & failed to check the user posts on blogs etc. It turns out that there's a known fault with the USB connection.
Summary: I set this up with the aim of it not only performing as a NAS but also as a WIFI hotspot. Result is that the NAS functions perfectly well with a comprehensive set of functions - way beyond my needs. But the Wifi was pretty lame - lots of dropped connections.
