Synology DiskStation DS213Air packs in features and performance

10 January 2013
  • Summary: The Synology DiskStation DS213Air is a great network storage device for home users, especially those who also want to extend their Wi-Fi network.
  • Pros: The Synology DiskStation DS213Air offers fast data performance, tons of features, and built-in support for Wi-Fi.
  • Cons: The DS213Air isn't as fast as other dual-bay NAS servers, and its Wi-Fi feature and drive-bay design need some improvement.

Synology DS213+ and DS213air

Legion Hardware
20 November 2012
  • Summary: Based on similar hardware to the recently reviewed DS413, the DS213+ delivered similar performance in most of our tests. In fact we were surprised to find that in many of the tests the 2-bay DS213+ was actually faster despite only being tested with two WD Red hard drives in RAID1 opposed to the four used in the DS413 (RAID5).

Synology DS213Air review

2 April 2013
  • Excerpt: It may look like numerous other Synology NAS devices, but unlike most the Synology DS213Air has a built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi adaptor that lets you connect to it directly via your laptop’s Wi-Fi adaptor, use it as a wireless access point for your network and let it join your wireless network as a regular client. This is on top of its use as a regular Synology NAS that lets you install two 3.5in disks, two 2.5in disks or a combination of both, up to a maximum capacity 8TB.

20 June 2013
