Synology Disk Station DS211

Summary: Although the Disk Station DS211 is far from the cheapest 2-bay NAS device you will come across, it’s certainly one of the best in terms of performance. For those that only require 4 – 6GB’s of storage and want something that will provide reasonably high transfer speeds, the DS211 is very reasonable at $300 US ($530 US with 2TB of storage).
Summary: Synology DiskStation DS211 is an affordable and full-featured 2-bay NAS server designed to increase productivity for business workgroups. Conclusion: In our opinion, the DS211 is worth its sticker price and then some. It was easy to set up, versatile in its uses, small in physical size, quiet, well ventilated, and does not have overpowering LEDs all over it. Excerpt: Recently I’ve been able to spend some time with Synology’s relatively new DiskStation DS211 network-attached storage device. Like the DS210+, the DS210j and the DS209 before it, the DS211 is a two-disk NAS unit from a company that only makes storage devices. This model is aimed at consumers and small businesses looking for a mid-range NAS without the performance or price tag you’s find in higher-end multi-disk devices.
The Synology DiskStation DS211 is a versatile two-disk NAS drive with powerful but approachable DSM 3.0 operating-system software.
