Summary: It seems to work ok for media streaming and backups. I tried to install the "Cloud" and can't get it to work. The client side seems to be the problem. I emailed support for a fix and followed their directions, sent them the logs etc. I haven't heard a word back in over a month.
Summary: I had initially written a glowing review of this unit after loading it up with my data and setting my preferences. It was a great first impression, and many thing about the Synology NAS are wonderful; however only 2 months in I had my first disk failure and the recovery was anything but graceful.
Summary: I had great expectations and was pleased with the unit for 4 days... then it went dark and unresponsive. I went online for Synology support on Saturday and waited until the afternoon of the first business day (Tuesday) for a response. It was weak... I followed instructions to no avail.
Summary: The 1512+ was great for the first 5 days I had it. Upon arrival, I upgraded to DSM 4 without a hitch. Created some share folders and moved 100+ gb of data quickly, seeing write speeds of around 60MB/s.
Summary: I've had this for about a year, it's an excellent product, easy to set up, easy to manage, the performance is excellent. However, the bundled software gets worse and worse at each release, especially the PhotoStation which has become fundamentally useless: drag-and-drop upload does not work in most...
