Summary: Ok here we go. As you can see there are a bunch of glowing reviews on this Nas here on Amazon. I can see why there are. Now I will tell you my experience, and you can judge for yourself if this is what you want to try for your storage needs. I really wanted to like the Synology 1512+.
Summary: Used 2 WD10EFRX. I am just waiting on a better deal on higher capacity drives. If support takes too long to help, I am considering returning.
Pros: Once Support helps me, I hope I may come to find out. I still have high hopes for this.
Cons: So far Its very difficult to get timely support. I will revise my opinion once my issue is fixed. Created 2 volumes Day2. Summary: Got this to replace a defective and inadequate Drobo FS which was to replace an aging home-built 16x1.5 WHS rig. Setup was very easy and the UI is unbelievable. I've never seen anything like this in any storage appliance or other network device for that matter.
Summary: I bought this unit and have suffered the same fate of others...the device stopped working after a few days and just has a quickly blinking blue light and is unresponsive. Synology's support hasn't been any help as of yet. Synology DID tweet about the issue and addressing it.
