terrible support and empty promises

Summary: AppleTV support feeds content directly from the NAS to an AppleTV. It great when it works, but has proven unreliable. You can still airplay it from an iPhone or iPad, but this method kills off dolby digital and really taxes your network.
Pros: cool, quiet, low-priced, surprising transfer speeds on local connections
Cons: terrible customer support, poor build quality, openVPN performance is abysmal, torrents are slow, ridiculously slow boot up times, AppleTV support added in DSM 4.3 rarely works
Summary: This device is the cheapest, bottom of the range, synology device you can get. It works in many basic ways however a number of really useful features are missing if you would like to use it as a video storage device to stream to a smart TV (which is exactly what I bought it for!).
Summary: This was a good looking NAS but ultimately I had to send it back because of some fundamental problems. Firstly, the fan was very noisy. If you're siting the NAS in a room in which you work, you will be distracted by the low hum of the fan.
