WARNING: Won't power on after reboot
Ryan H., Newegg
20 June 2012
Summary: Newegg RMA process should look at options to compensate people for shipping when they receive a defective product. Why must I pay to ship this again when it is defective? Or how about "RMA shipping insurance" - a $2.00 optional add-on at purchase.
Pros: Web interface is OK, but A WORD OF WARNING. It will not power on after you power it down.
Cons: WARNING: I had the DS112j for about a week. I copied about 2TB of data to my HDD, and I thought I was all set. I turned the device off, and then it would not turn back on. Latest firmware bricks it and Synology not responding
8 November 2012
Summary: BEWARE! Do not touch this NAS; in giving the interface an infantile, Windows8 type look Synology have killed the device so it won't boot up and have not posted any messages on their forums explaining their actions. I have QNAP and Zyxel NAS devices - both better than this.
Summary: Despite what the website of the manufacturer claims, this is NOT compatible with the D-Link DCS-2230 motion detection. Also, don't be fooled by the foldersyncing claims if you have multiple Synology NAS in different places: it's only a one-way backup, not 2-way SYNCING.
Summary: Negativ (alles natürlich subjektiv): - Gehäuse vollkommen aus Kunststoff - Keine akustische Dämmung - Lüfter relativ laut (auch im Silent mode) Leider hört man selbst die leiseste Festplatte aufgrund fehlender Abschirmung gegen Geräusche.
