    As another reviewer pointed out, this Seagate version of the BlackArmor IS NOT the same as the Maxtor BlackArmor. Seagate bought out Maxtor but didn't continue the BlackArmor legacy exactly the same as Maxtor. Read more or see product

    This could be a great device if it was faster and more reliable. Unfortunately, it's just another example of how everything is made today: cheap, cheap, cheap. The only emphasis is on cutting cost. What a shame. Read more

    • Many good features for a good price if it worked. Seagate's tech support and warranty support is very good (except for the refurb issue, see Cons below).
    • I shouldn't have to use their warranty support so much. I've had lots of problems with these things. I had 2 hard drives fail in the first unit so they replaced the entire thing. The replacement they sent me wouldn't even ...

    Came setup in RAID 1, took five minutes to setup and on my LAN as a 1TB NAS, upgraded from a WD .5TB NAS, I like the Seagate Management SW better, and it has a three year warranty :0) Read more
