Great Quality External Hard Drive

John J. Havens "Elite Platinum Portfolios Che..., Amazon
14 December 2013
  • Summary: I was in the market for a hard drive and so I bought this one. It does the job and holds the stuff I put onto it. Seagate has earned my trust with this one as it has not crashed or had any issues.

NAS 110 review

JK, Amazon
25 June 2012
  • Summary: The product was that I expected and it has been working well so far. Sometimes, it shows some delays in NFS service but I'm not sure if it is the problem of NAS or there is other network issue on my network.

Good But Missing 40GB

T. Lucero "t. lucero", Amazon
14 January 2012
  • Summary: Works great, however, even after formatting the drive, I still only have 596GB available. This is ok, but the advertised storage was 640GB. Where did my 40GB go??

Reliable (for the past 7 months), compact, but lacks USB 3.0

Kawa Jaan "THE GAMER", Amazon
2 December 2011
  • Summary: An external HD for backing up your data is a MUST for any computer user. I got the 640 GB model of this drive in May of 2011, and so far, the drive has been reliable. My laptop died 2 months ago and I don't know what I'd have done w/o all my data, if I hadn't gotten this drive or if I hadn't done a backup. The only negative is the lack of a USB 3.0 connection.

Simple and Fast, but not perfect

Joel Schopp, Amazon
7 February 2011
  • Summary: The BlackArmor NAS is fast, with gigabit ethernet and a 7200rpm drive with 32MB of cache. The price is just about what you'd pay for a normal usb only external drive. For that you get some decent standalone fileserver functions and a nice easy to use web interface for configuration. Like most Seagate products it comes with an industry leading 3 year warranty and best in class reliability.

Does what it says

Jason, Amazon
27 January 2011
  • Summary: Not a whole lot to say here, it's a good, reasonably-priced external drive. Read-write speed's great, it's small enough to fit in a large pocket, the fact that it's USB powered makes it all the better, and it even has a lanyard loop. Activity/power light's plenty visible without being annoyingly bright, the unit itself is small enough to be stowed to the side for long-term usage, it's overall a good buy.

Nice external 2.5 USB Hard Drive.

Gustavo S, Amazon
24 January 2011
  • Summary: I found this after cancelling an order for a Western Digital drive (500GB), since the price was the same ($60 at the time of purchase), however the Seagate was a 640GB. Transfer speed is OK, I just care for storage and not for speed; besides this is an external device and they will always behave slower than internal drives. The only thing I don't like much about this hard drive is its shape, it makes it hard to fit on an external hard drive case.

Good drive, shop around for price

Richard T. Reper, Amazon
17 September 2010
  • Summary: This is a good network and backup drive. Software with is works well both for discovery and backup. i have not needed to perform a restore so i can't speak to that but it is based on Acronis tools and they are pretty solid. I'm happy with the purchase.

Bought for PS3, but it was very difficult to get it to work

Jose Reyes, Amazon
3 August 2010
  • Summary: The sole purpose of my purchasing this hard drive was to use it on my PS3. Unfortunately it was not recognized on the PS3. However, it was recognized on my PC. The file format it uses is NTFS, so if you don't have NTFS file format on your PC, GOOD LUCK getting this to work. I think that is the reason a lot of people are having trouble accessing the drive from what I've read. The PS3 uses FAT file format, therefore I had to format the HDD using that file format.
