Great Product, Recommended

Tracy T., Newegg
22 November 2007
  • Summary: My network is currently only 100mbit. Transfer rate to write a 1gb file Raid 1 was about 6.5mb/sec (2min. 38sec. actual time). My only minor delay was when I was asked for the admin password. The default password is admin just in case it's unclear to anyone else.
  • Pros: Well made product. Very nice aluminum case. Easy setup. Took less than 45 minutes. Well written instructions (ON THE CD). Before the purchase I called Sans Digital with questions and was very happy to have all my questions answered. The device has proven every claim to be true. It just works.
  • Cons: No paper instructions in the box. You need to read the manual from the CD. Not enough of a problem to reduce the rating.

Good choice for media

Matthew N., Newegg
19 November 2007
  • Summary: After two other NAS's I finally found one that works great with my media player.
  • Pros: Nice design. Works great with my TVIX M4000. Tech support is very good, I got a response within 12 hours.
  • Cons: Fan is loud. Access speed seems a little slower than other NAS's from a PC.

Keep Looking

Anonymous, Newegg
9 November 2007
  • Summary: Assumes IP 192.168.1.1, which ALL routers assume; this is probably why it wrecked havoc every time I turned it on. Also,
  • Pros: Looks good on paper. Tech support is a live person.
  • Cons: Fan is loud. Has its own DHCP server which screws up all other DHCP servers on my network. DHCP client doesn't work. Won't detect my WD drive in first slot. Think I got a bad one. Won't save settings without a writable disk installed. Cannot change admin password.
