Works Great But Poor Support

Paul R., Newegg
20 October 2014
  • Summary: The QNAP update made the NAS disappear and there is no help from the company. So if you purchase this NAS your only support is the documentation!
  • Pros: The unit was easy to set up and has very extensive documentation. It is very fast and works very well.
  • Cons: Very poor support. After an update the Qnap NAS disappeared from the items on my Windows 8.1 Network. While the documentation is extensive it provided little help to fix the problem. I emailed the company and received a response after two days which simply repeated the documentation. That was the end of their support! So the NAS is still working but to access it I need to use the QNAP Finder program. That means the QNAP NAS does not appear as a Windows drive for any a...

It far exceeds my expectations.

Bart E. Henderson, Amazon
18 December 2013
  • Summary: Three words - I Love It!. I populated this NAS with 4 WD Red 3TB drives for my 4 home PC network. It does everything and more what is advertised. It is easy to manage and to configure. With this unit on a UPS and "acres and acres" of storage, I expect this will last me a long time with confidence of my data being safe. This NAS being fully populated with 4 drives, it runs very cool and quiet.

  • Summary: This is my second NAS. I started with one with just one disk. I was waiting for a model with SATA III and USB 3.0, Multithread processor and MORE DISKS.

  • Pros: This is a great little system for a buy and forget it deal. Great homegrown OS Cool web access feature from your own URL

  • Summary: I ended up being able to use this unit for its intended purpose once I upgraded to a multiseat quickbooks. but that is not the fault of this unit, that is a quickbooks issue. that being said, we use this everyday. it is a great unit. I am actually considering getting one for at home.
