Summary: I used this product to replace a massive dell server configured in a RAID 5 setup for file storage. This blows it away for speed and has vastly improved network file retrieval and storage space. Its been a few months and I am still impressed.
Summary: I would love to go into great detail on this QNAP, but I don't have much time right now... I do really want to sit down and go over the entire OS and the great features. For now, here are the 2 best features: 1) Amazon S3 backup. This has a built in software to connect to S3.
Summary: Practical design, and the only NAS product that has a metal exterior. This is important to me since it gave me a extra sense of security that the device won't break if you drop it. Very well organized Linux based OS, looks really clean and honestly was very hard to use. Bonus!!!
Summary: UPDATE after six months of constant use: This storage array has been in constant use as my home file server, bacup server, media server, and storage for my photo editing and video development. Now, back to my original review, already in progress...
