  • Excerpt: I love everything about this NAS server. From the ease of installation, to the ease of management, to it's flawless performance!!!! I just had a little bit of difficulty making my Mac recognize it for Time Machine, but it was easily fixed by mounting the network drive from finder "Go" --> "Connect to server" and you can login with either a user name that you setup or user: TimeMachine and password and it will work like magic. Did not have any other problems.
  • Pros: Easy To Manage, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Highly Compatible
  • Cons: None

Simple Little Reliable NAS

Daniel L. Miley, Amazon
27 May 2014
  • Summary: Like all QNAP products I have purchased, this device is very simple to set up and administer. I had this little unit set up in about 10-15 minutes. I have it configured as a backup server for my home desktops and laptops. I installed 2 WD Red 4TB discs in a RAID1 configuration - that is, I want to be sure I have a bare metal backup to account for any hard drive failures on my PC's.

very easy migration

Arturo Iturbide Gonzalez "AIG", Amazon
21 February 2014
  • Summary: I wanted to replace a TS 239 Pro and since I have been satisfied with the TS 239 Pro, I replaced it with another QNAP product . Migrating from 239 Pro was really, really easy. Just removed the hard drives from 239 pro , inserted them on the 269 Pro in the same location sequence ,as on the original machine. And voila, that was it. I plan to use the 239 pro to be a backup unit , it will receive replication from the 269 Pro.269 Pro is the file server.

Qnap TS-269 Pro - great media server

Jeremiah Kelleher, Amazon
12 February 2014
  • Summary: Decided to purchase this when the price came by QNAP and no other vendor had no other offering with similar features. Am using mainly as a media server of various content to my wireless clients and serving as a backup to my main desktop system. Only vendor which offers their own OS - QTS, which has both a GUI and command line mode. QNAP continues to support and update QTS - the main reason why I bought from them. Highly recommend QNAP and applaud their OS!

Works well with decent performance

Sean Flanagan "seanf", Amazon
22 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this as a stop-gap to our data center running out of disk space. I am using it to store non-critical data, such as computer rebuild images, installation packages, and user temporary storage. The performance is better than most of the smaller NAS devices I have worked with. The build quality is decent as well. There are two network connections which allow for redundancy and/or port aggregation for better transfer speeds.
