Summary: While QNAP makes a great hardware device, their software support is terrible. For months, the users on the QNAP website have requested that QNAP push security patches to operating systems on the QNAP devices. All these requests have been ignored.

Summary: Wish I had found this before buying a Dlink DNS-323. The QNAP NAS outperforms the 323 in every way. Much much faster read/write speeds. Yes it's more expensive but well worth it to me. 5 stars. Only ding is on amazon for recommending a hard drive that the manufacturer explicitly says not to use.
Summary: I bout this NAS because it has a strong feature set. The first unit I received would lock up about every two to three days and become unresponsive. I put in three calls to QNAP's technical support. I NEVER received a call back. I then submitted an online request for support.
