The QNAP TS-259 Pro is an network attached storage device powered by Intel® Atom™ Processor D510 1.66GHz (Dual-Core) with up to 1GB DDRII RAM, a 512MB DOM flash memory, two SATA hard disk drive (one 2.5 inch and one 3.5 inch) which are hot swappable via its lockable HDD tray. The TS-259 Pro also supports two Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port, LED Indicators for Status, LAN, USB, eSATA, Power, HDD 1, and HHD 2, five USB 2.0 port (Front: 1; Back: 4) which supports a USB printer, pen drive, USB hub, and USB UPS etc.; two eSATA port (Back), button for Power, USB One-Touch-Backup and a Reset button, and system warning alarm buzzer. The TS-259 Pro is designed in a tower form factor that measures 5.91 (H) x 4.02 (W) x 8.5 (D) inch and weighs 3.84 lbs. It has a power consumption of 25W (16W on standby/1W on power off), and features K-lock security slot for theft prevention, reserved VGA interface for maintenance and one smart fan (7 cm, 12V DC).

It is powered by an Intel® Atom D510 1.66GHz Dual-Core processor and 1GB DDRII RAM, is certified as compatible with VMware® vSphere4 (ESX 4.0 and above) virtualization platform which allows it to be utilized as the networked shared storage of VMware virtualization environments and Windows cluster servers; is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX platforms; has file server, FTP server, printer server, web server, and Windows AD, WebDAV, Share Folder Aggregation (also known as DFS), IPv6 and IPv4 dual-stack, Wake on LAN, schedule power on/ off, HDD S.M.A.R.T, log systems, and policy-based unauthorized IP blocking functions.
