Works as it should

D. Long "DeAngelo", Amazon
2 May 2014
  • Summary: Deserves 5 stars because I have had no issues with this device. It does what it should and is simple to set up. I am not a tech guru, but I am not PC ignorant, either. Has a ton of features if you choose to use them. I just wanted a separate storage device that I could access remotely using PLEX. Works great!

Great product a must to all that love to pile up pictures and music

Miguel F. Toriz Chong "MFT", Amazon
22 April 2014
  • Summary: My first cloud device was a WD mycloud of only one HD, the software wasn't great but not that bad,it help me to keep my daugthters photo history and part of my music collection. It lasted a year and half and suddenly broke, with no possibility to access at the device. Thankfully I had about 75% of the data backed up, a friend of my recommended me a Qnap and I started doing some reasearch. I got a good deal on the TS-212-E with upgraded processor.

Perfect for home

Chris, TigerDirect.com
13 April 2014
  • Summary: Bought to replace Omninas KD20 which was just too slow with transfers & DNLA streaming when nearing capacity. The QNAP unit considerably faster with reads and writes - streams 1080p with HD audio seamlessly. OS far more granular and sophisticated than the previous unit. Native DNLA poor, but once latest Twonky installed, it performs well. Mated to 2x WD Red 3Tb. Near silent.

Qnap TS-212-E 2-Bay Network Attached Storage

302, Amazon
20 March 2014
  • Summary: This is the second one I have purchased. It has plenty of great features right out of the box. I'm using mine primarily as a media server and for back up purposes. The software & user interface are reasonably straight forward. It was easy to set user & group privileges. Transfer speed is is pretty fast over my gigabit network. The fan could be quieter. It is tolerable, but since it is located in another room the noise is not an issue.

User Review

Curtis_M, NCIX.com
27 October 2012
  • Summary: This is one amazing little unit for the price. I bought this on a boxing day sale for $149 and have been perfectly happy with it from day one. I have a 1TB WD green (WD10EACS) installed for backups of all my computers, phone and tablet and a 3TB WD green (WD30EZRS) for all of my media storage. The unit acts as a media server, web server, FTP server and BT client on a daily basis and has never let me down.
  • Pros: Stable, Reliable, Fast, Lots of features.
  • Cons: Bit too cute, wish it was black.

  • Summary: I have several Qnap NAS, this is a 2 disk version Qnaps very popular Turbo Nas range. This one has all the features that its big 4 bay brother has in a nice style case. With this NAS you can download files without having to leave your computer on, run a web server & stream content to you iPhone or smart TV. It can be a hub for your digital Life, linking all your network enabled devices & letting you and your family share and save files.

recommended

D. W. Smith, Amazon
2 January 2014
  • Summary: the updated firmware is 100% better than the original,I originaly had issues loging on as its a web based and would not reconise IE 9. but now chrome, IE, and Firefox all good. user interface is clear and easy , have even streamed music to my pc at work using the cloud server. The Processor is not the fastest and and internal memory could do with a few MB more but a good well built starter which keeps getting better with each firmware update.
