Summary: Seems to be an incredibly versatile product with tons more features than the average user or even I.T. person would implement on a single device. Purchased this product as a test of functionality and features before recommending higher end model to business customer in a mid size corporate environment.
Summary: Pros: Quick transfers over gigabit 50MB/s Quick transfers over USB 3 to NTFS non encrypted disk ~50MB/s Frequent firmware updates Great support Cons: Disk encryption degrades the performance when backing up to external hd over USB3 No display showing ip address/configuration Pricy
Summary: it's an excellent product, very complete and efficient, easy to use and install, works great and it's very little, the config of the services and the hardware install it's so easy, you must try it!!
Summary: There are many single drive network attached storage (NAS) units on the market. The price performance ratio of the TS-119PII, at the current close-out prices, is far and away the best of the single-drive NAS units. The hardware & performance are comparable to the TS-121, at around half the price. (The TS-120 is somewhat lower in performance than either the TS-119PII or the TS-121.) The TS-119PII, TS-120 and the TS-121 run the same QNAP QTS software.
Summary: I've been using QNAP's for over a year now at my company and they are hands-down the preferred NAS in our tech department. This model is only a single drive unit which we use for temporary storage (server imaging, backup seeding, etc). performance and features are great. For any long term NAS storage needs i would recommend a 219 or higher-end QNAP with multiple HD's for RAID (meaning the data is mirrored or striped amongst several drives, protecting you from data loss...
Usually stray away from small NAS However this one is a deal and a solid performer

Summary: I usually do not buy unfamiliar brands of hardware but I took a risk on this one and am glad I did. I had it set up backing up within a half hour to one of my file servers as a third level backup emergency option. It is fast.. Very fast, and have had zero issues with it. I purchased this to compare to a Drobo ,and well.. This is the one I kept.
Summary: This is a two part review: First, come from the day i acquired the machine. Is perfect do-all-things-mini-server for home, but was a little bit too tech oriented, making it more difficult for non geeks setup it. The software was not that perfect "yet". Is a little bit underpowered and for those who desire some special needs, like java installed, is not that simple. The it comes second part, the new software.
Summary: This is a great NAS unit, using a 2.5 1TB disk the power consumption is about 8W at full load and less than 5 in normal conditions... The only issue I can find is that the unit is made of plastic so the fan runs much more than my other unit (a TS219-P that is made of sheet metal) because the heat dissipation is not good as the old one.
Summary: Using this in a small office, fitted with a Samsung SSD. Although this unit is slightly quirky there are many useful features and I like it. Mostly the unit runs quietly but occasionally, at what seem like random times, the fan stirs into action. Still quiet but might be annoying in a bedroom. After a few months it only became unstable once and a re-power fixed that. Set-up is time consuming, especially if you want to lock it down correctly security wise.
Summary: I regret I didn't order the two or even the four slots version but this, even if it is a single-disk version works great. Several applications are already installed and Operating System is well maintained. Additional application are also available for download, most of the free.
