The QNAP TS-112 is a network attached storage system server for home use, and provides users with a way to share digital photos, music, and movies/videos, and keeping home computers backed up. You can easily view photos, listen to music, and watch Full HD 1080p movies on a widescreen TV or projector streamed from the NAS over the network through PS3, Xbox 360, or other network media players. Users can also share multimedia content with family and friends wherever they are on the Internet by web browsers, and iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android users can browse shared photos or listen to their music collections anywhere with 3G or Wi-Fi connection by streaming content directly to the device. It is powered by a Marvell 6281 1.2GHz processor with 256MB DDRII RAM and 16 MB flash memory. The unit also features one 3.5“ SATA I/II hard disk drive (HDD), one Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port; USB, Status, HDD1, HDD2, LAN and Power LED indicators, three USB 2.0 port (front: 1; back: 2), support for USB printer, pen drive, USB hub, and USB UPS etc.; and a System warning alarm buzzer. It measures 6.52 (H) x 2.36 (W) x 8.60(D) inch and weighs 1.74 lb.

Features

The QNAP TS-112 is ideal for photo backup, archiving, and sharing. It allows users to upload photos to the NAS and create albums by a web browser to share with family and friends. The entire album can be viewed through UPnP-compatible players, and allows users to browse pictures on widescreen TV. Users can also browse photos via QMobile app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. The QNAP TS-112 is also a Home Music Center, allowing users to store music files and share them to PC or various media players. They can also listen to songs streamed from iTunes Server, or play music by web browsers on a PC. It is also compatible with SBS (Squeezebox Server) QPKG plugin which allows users to manage and play music with Logitech music players without even turning on the PC. Users can also listen to music on iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Android devices as long a there is a 3G or Wi-Fi connection and play music files via QMobile app on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices remotely. The NAS features data transfer of exceeding 70MB/s and comes with utility NetBak Replicator which lets them automatically back up important files from Windows PC to a QNAP NAS over the network. Users can also execute real-time synchronization and scheduled backup from multiple PCs to the NAS, and restore the data to the original location or to a new directory in the event of a PC crash. It is compatible with many third-party backup software applications including Apple Time Machine. Other features on the QNAP TS-112 include compatibility with an external USB or eSATA drive which can be configured as a “mirror disk” to ensure that in the case the internal hard drive on the NAS fails, users could install the external drive in the NAS to restore the system with all the data retained; connectivity to up to 3 USB printers to share the printers with family members for network (LAN or Internet) printing; connectivity to home wireless network through a USB Wi-Fi dongle for access; and MyCloudNAS which is a service which allows users to connect to their NAS remotely from anywhere.
