10 Drive Failures in two years.

Nathan S., Newegg

  • Summary: Using as iscsi with VMware 4.1 Esxi.
  • Pros: Only hard failed once.
  • Cons: Drives drop out about once a month. Pull them out and put them back in and the array rebuilds and runs for another month. I have replaced the chassis through warranty, and I have tried two seperate approved drives to resolve the problem but the drive just keep falling out. 10+ Drops in two years.

  • Summary: I'm not a big review-writer, but I logged in specifically to give Netgear credit for this product... they've earned it. Our experience with this NAS device has been stellar so far (knock on wood).
