The NetGear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 is a network attached storage designed for advance home users and provides them with remote access and hot swappable drives for their data and files. It is supported by ReadyNAS Vault Online Backup (optional X-RAID2™ Automatic volume expansion), is TiVo® compatible and supports Orb™ Mobile Streaming as well as Skifta™ Remote DLNA® streaming. The NetGear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 is powered by a 1.8 GHz INtel Atom single-core with 1 GB DDR3 SODIMM memory, and features two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0, 2 bays for up to 4 TB space (with options for diskless form factor) with RAID 0,1 support. The unit measures 3.98 x 5.59 x 8.66 inch and weighs 4.56 lb.

It also supports drag-and-drop remote access and X-RAID2™ auto expansion technology. It has built-in media server capabilities that allow advanced home users to store, share, and protect their digital assets. The NetGear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 backs up all multimedia files in one central location and has the ability to schedule continuous or reoccurring backup jobs from PC and Mac®, manage volume expansion automatically with X-RAID2™ technology and synchronize multimedia files between two ReadyNAS devices with rsync. The DLNA® certification allows users to stream music, photos, and videos to any networked device, stream media content to mobile handhelds over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G using Orb™, stream media content to remote DLNA® devices using Skifta™ and play back non-protected TiVo® recorded. The unit comes with 2 GB of ReadyNAS Vault online backup service and is covered by 3 lifetime licenses of Memeo® Premium Backup service.
