Fantastic NAS

R.A. Montgomery, Amazon
27 January 2013
  • Summary: Bought this to replace a series 1100. This is a great improvement over the older Sparc based systems. I would recommend to anyone.

Great Backup SAN System

Stephen B., Newegg
6 January 2011
  • Summary: We've purchased several of these systems for backup appliances and they have been working great. I haven't had any issues with the iSCSI after the firmware was updated. Excellent unit for the price!
  • Pros: Great feature set, reliable, fast, iSCSI great, price.
  • Cons: Poor documentation

Not bad so far

Craig C., Newegg
7 September 2010
  • Summary: Still burning in and testing but I'm reasonably impressed so far. If you're looking for a real SMB solution (verses SOHO or home use product) in four figures, you might want to check this one out. Plugged it in, turned it on, came up with no problem.
  • Pros: Price, supported protocols, speed, scalable design ... bang for the buck.
  • Cons: The documentation could be more complete and there are a couple quirks in the sometimes non-intuitive web interface.

Horrible iSCSI support

Drew V., Newegg
12 August 2010
  • Pros: Relatively cheap, compared to other 1U SAN products.
  • Cons: The iSCSI support is horrible. I get disconnects when I generate even moderate write load. Two of my three iSCSI targets were disconnected when I was first formatting them. The iSCSI support is unusable for me. Unfortunately I bought this particular unit specifically for its iSCSI feature.
