Summary: I got this to consolodate my ever bloating iTunes library into one 'safe' place. When connected to a router it works just as stated on the box - no problems whatsoever - even the iPhone connection software works perfectly too.
Summary: [ASIN:B002SNBCSQ Netgear Stora 1TB Home Media Server - 2 Bay Network Attached Storage ( 1 X 1TB drive included )]] The product is poorly constructed. The plastic cover has fallen off and cannot be securely fixed. I have to reset the unit every 2 weeks or so.
Summary: The box itself does everything you need for a basic fileserver. However the bundled software, including the system software is flaky with lots of bugs causing issues. The backup software, Desktop Mirror, is particularly bad, which is a shame because the underlying rsync utility is great.
Summary: I have now had this product for about 3 weeks my feeling about this product are mixed 1. The build quality and the cost where good 2. The reliability of the software is still questionable but getting better on each release of software 3. I have a PS3 a MAC pc and a few windows PC,s .
Summary: First off, why did I buy the Stora? A combination of factors really, firstly I wanted larger backup than my 80GB external HDD, but the shared storage options appealled as I'd recently got a DLNA TV and this would also work with the Xbox 360 so I could show pics etc through the TV.
