Summary: I purchased this drive in April, 2013. In May, it failed and Lenovo replaced it with a refurbished model under warranty. It failed again only 14 months later. Thankfully, it has a 3 year warranty. The drive gets very warm during operation and appears to have only passive cooling.
Summary: Not sure why the admin interface is so slow. Not sure why it tries to do too much (like index all media) when it simply does not have the power. It should boot up in the very simplest file server mode and give warnings if the user really wants it to do any more "heavy lifting"
Pros: Cheap 2TB NAS ($80)
Cons: Does not support NFS! Usable, but mediocre file access speed. USB 2.0 (but 3.0 would prob not be any faster with processor) SLOW administrative web console BEWARE when attaching ext USB drive as the whole unit locks up.
Summary: Simple interface. Uses web or you can easily map drive. Has multiple features including web access and private cloud feature. I never activate these services since there is much risk (as reported many times on the web). Smart media software and a bunch of other stuff.
Summary: I was expecting this nas to be somewhat slow and cumbersome to use based on previous experience with other nas drives. I was pleasantly surprised at my experience with this one. I use this drive for immediate backup from 2 computers in my house and file transfer speed seems to be good.
