Summary: It's big, it's bulky. I use a Mac Powerbook and it isn't automatically set up for Mac, so there is a bit of set-up but I wouldn't call it plug and play. There are so many great SMALL hard drives out there. Why clutter up the desk with a piece of equipment with a footprint this size?
Summary: While like most people, I love the aesthetic value of the 2TB LaCie Network Attached Storage Hard Drive... I'm also very disappointed with the software they include. It times out, runs slowly, and prevents me from simply opening finder and heading there to delete files...
Summary: I'm satisfied with my purchase but not thrilled. I took a chance on a product with no reviews, and I can't blame anyone but myself for a bad experience when I do that. If spelling errors and vague manuals don't bother you, then this is a great purchase.
Pros: Sleek form factor, absolutely silent, large storage capacity, decent price, somewhat easy setup for remote hosting
Cons: The setup installer and the dashboard program are riddled with spelling errors. While that doesn't hinder the performance of the hard drive, it's very unprofessional looking. Some examples: if you give an incorrect password while logging on to the NAS, it says "unvalid authentication". Yeah... un...
Summary: There is a lot to recommend this attractive, quiet little box. Generally, I have had good results with Lacie USB-attached hard drives. However, it took me several attempts to backup my computers onto this network-attached device. I would get a lost connection and the backup software would terminate.
Summary: Ive been using this drive for about 1.5 years, and it worked really well with Time Machine on my Mac. I was able to quickly migrate to different computers twice in that time with no problems at all. The only problem is it stopped working. Dead.
mix of terrifically convenient and maddeningly awkward

Summary: I bought this drive in order to store my music library to play without always having to plug in an external drive. Upon receiving it, I made the mistake of not following the set up instructions, instead going the plug n play route and copying all my music over via ethernet (albeit, slowly).
Summary: This product looked great when I took it out of the package, and the storage is massive! However, set up was NOT a breeze and using the device is not as simple as other similar devices I have used. The more I work with the device, the easier it gets, but there is a learning curve with this one.
Summary: The issue I had was waking up the drive after being in deep sleep mode. As drive booted up the blue light on front blinks and blinks and continues to blink. Basically unresponsive, cant access the web interface or files. I guess it takes a long time to wake up from a nap.
Pros: very easy setup, up in no time. I downloaded the lacie network assistant off the lacie website. Simple user interface and easy to configure. Much better and faster than the previous version (I have both versions). Its not the fastest but its an improvement. I guess I was hoping for a huge improve...
Cons: Deep sleep wakes up drive but is unresponsive. The light just blinks. I was hoping they were going to put a fan in this version. It would be nice to be able to upgrade the hard drive to a 2TB.
Summary: I want to like this drive, but it's frustrating me to the point where I'm thinking about spending a bit more on another NAS. I haven't got any complaints about the web interface, ease of set-up, noise (it's pretty quiet), etc.
