The LaCie Network Space 2 is a network storage device designed to centralize, share and back up files at home and provides users with optimized setup and usage. It also allows users to access and download files, even with the computer turned off and create private accounts for everyone in the household. The Lacie Network Space 2 supports file streaming to UPnP/DLNA-compatible players as well.

Features

The Network Space 2 which is designed by Neil Poulton is a network-attached storage (NAS) and media server that can be connected to an existing home network to consolidate digital libraries, share files throughout the house and back up computers. The Network Space 2 features LaCie’s Welcome Experience and a widget-organized web interface that allows configuration and administration to be done in a user-friendly way.. The device comes in 1 or 2TB (Terabytes) capacities and features multiple ways to access media, by copying files via Hi-Speed USB 2.0 or using the included LaCie Network Assistant, which facilitates access to the shares through the Gigabit network connection. Files that are stored on the drive are fully accessible even when the host computer is switched off. The Network Space 2 features a media server, allowing users to stream files from any computer on the local network or any UPnP/DLNA compliant device (such as a PlayStation®3 or Xbox®). It can also access the iTunes® library or stored photos and everyone can stream music or videos from a networked UPnP™ AV player or adapter. The unit also features a USB 2.0 host port, located on the front of the unit that allows users to connect a USB flash drive, hard drive or digital camera to import files. The LaCie Network Space 2 is designed in a mirror-polished black finish with a blue LED strip on its underside.
