The LaCie Ethernet Big Disk is a Gigabit Ethernet & Hi-Speed USB 2.0 external hard disk created and manufactured by LaCie. It is 44.0 mm x 173.0 mm x 272.0 mm (W x H x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 2500 grams.

The LaCie Ethernet Big Disk has one Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 (for file-sharing) and one Hi-Speed USB 2.0 (for direct computer connection using TCP over USB – acts/appears as a Network drive). It has a rotational speed of 7200 rpm and has a 16MB cache. The LaCie Ethernet Big Disk has few network protocols. It uses SMB (Windows/Linux), AFP (Mac); FTP Server; HTTP for online browsing and as a file server while using UPnP™ A/V; Apple Bonjour as a multimedia server. Besides that, the LaCie Ethernet Big Disk has a 400MHz and a 64MB DDRAM. It also has one USB 2.0 for additional storage & photo sharing. In addition to that, the LaCie Ethernet Big Disk has one smart fan. It supports any Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP (SP1 & SP2), Windows Vista, Mac OS 9.x, Mac OS 10.2 or higher, and Linux 2.4 or higher operating system. It requires an Ethernet switch or router; PC or Mac equipped with an Ethernet network adapter; and a web browser (Internet Explorer®, Safari®, Firefox®, etc.). The LaCie Ethernet Big Disk comes with a LaCie IP Configurator software for mapping drives on the network and a LaCie ‘1-Click’ Backup software for quick files quick file saving in one click. The external hard disk comes with a 3 years limited warranty.
