Summary: I bought this network drive to have a centralized storage for family photos, movies and music. I had no trouble installing and configuring the drive, as it went smoothly and without any hiccups. BTW, LaCie customer service is very good, if needed, as this is my third hard drive from them. This drive also comes with Genie Backup Manager Pro, which is a big plus. Some other network drives only offer a light version of backup programs, which is limited in what you can do.
Summary: have set this up as network-attached storage for my small home business, connected via ethernet to an Apple Airport Extreme; with direct backup from this disk to a LaCie d2 via eSATA cable, using the built-in backup software very quiet very easy setup
Summary: What can I say other than it works as advertised, it is a quality built product and the manufacturer stands behind it. This is my seventh LaCie drive in the last five years (all still functional) ... I was a big Maxtpr fan until their stuff turned to junk. The product is well packaged and when you open it, everything you need to hook up is in there - PS, cables, quick connect instructions. Hook up to my Appleshare Extreme wireless router was a piece of cake ...
Summary: I work from home and this d2 Network is perfect for me. I use it for storing and sharing files, as well as a print and media server. It's compatible with Time Machine, which makes backing up my Mac very easy. Nice product.
Pros: build quality, Storage Space, Fast Read/Write Speed, value for money, easy to use, portability
