Great for TIme Machine on OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
12 September 2009
Summary: Not sure if it works with Leopard (10.5) but this works out of the box with Snow Leopard (10.6). Network management to set up RAID (use the switch on the back of the drive to set it to SAFE100 which is RAID0). Takes a few hours to format itself. After that, select it in Time Machine preferences and away you go. PERFECT solution and no special hacking or configuration required. "Just works" right out of the box. Oh and you can easily turn off the glowing light.
Excellent unit for a small office shared drive & superb customer service

Summary: I've noticed that some of the comments are very negative regarding LaCie customer service. I think the company might have taken this feedback to heart, because I received some of the best customer service I've ever had from LaCie in March 2009 (based in Oregon - talked to two different customer service staff who were both excellent to deal with).
