A consumer NAS not recommended for professional use.

Summary: The Iomega StorCenter is a consumer NAS in a 1U form factor. Although the hardware seems good, it just cannot pull its load as a professional NAS. 1) Copy jobs are run at high priority, resulting in NFS timeouts from our VMWare hosts.
Summary: This device shuts down with no warning. Sometimes it logs why it shuts down, sometimes it doesn't. So far, calls to technical support result in one of two types of responses: 1. Disable most of its features 2.
Pros: Good price
Cons: Unreliable Terrible technical support / customer service Unacceptable return policy
Summary: Just like how a customer finds it difficult to pick a storage device so does a manufacture find it hard to get their products to the customers. I think in this race Iomega is leading with their superior storage products that are not just ergonomically designed but comes loaded with features.
Summary: My major issue is that there seems to be an incompatibility with Windows 2003 Server ntbackup. NTBackup jobs to this NAS take 6 times as long as to other NAS servers including an Iomega ix4-200r.
Pros: Lots of toys, lots of storage, fast network reads and writes.
Cons: Tech support somewhat lacking.. Return policy is weak... Issue with Windows Server 2003 backup? Interface lacks some important features
