Work great for VMware using iSCSI
22 February 2013
Summary: Great product for my lab. I use for setup my lab running VMware 5.1 using iSCSI protocol and is working great. I have multiples LUNs and is presented to the ESXi and vCenter without a problem.
Summary: The hardware looks reasonably well built on first glance, but the firmware it ships with is seriously flawed, and the GUI interface is just poor. It may be that an updated firmware could fix it, but I couldn't update mine.
Summary: Recently bought one of these...... I configured it for RAID-5, under the assumption that would secure my data properly with a solid redundant array of 4 exactly the same Seagate Barracuda disks.
Summary: Works with VMware fine and is moderately quiet. Its was quite affordable too, QNAP units are too expensive for what they are and I just needed it for a functional home lab. I am not trying to run a business on it or rule the world (pinky and the brain style :)) It's more that sufficient for homelabs...
