Summary: I had reservations about buying this because of reported incompatibilities with Timemachine and Mac OSX Lion. There is a firmware update you can download from iomega that fixes any of these issues. I got this yesterday and today I've got 3 Mac Machines (2 snow leopards and 1 Lion) backing up to the box. The software is very polished, like the active folders, iSCSi, etc. Much more than I thought I'd be getting...
Summary: Updated Aug 24, 2012: 1. The ix4-200d has been working without incident since I wrote this review. 2. The unit has handled firmware upgrades with aplomb. 3. The unit is very resilient to abrupt shutdowns and bounces back in minutes. 4. Iomega's free QuickProtect is a handy utility for automatically mirroring folders to a share (with versioning support). 5. I strongly advise against using RAID5 with this unit especially when storing critical data.
Summary: This thing is awesome! I was told to buy the rack version, but this desktop model does everything the rack does at less than half the cost! I haven't delve into all the features of it yet, but have setup it up for file storage and VMware.
Personally, one of the best desktop NAS units out there...

Summary: I am a software developer, working from home and have 6 Dell Servers racked in the basement. I use these for various development activities. Servers are big, power hungry and expensive, but have their own purpose and role in my environment. I was looking for a NAS unit that I could put on my internal private network where my family could store their Digital Photos, Documents, etc.
Summary: Bluetooth and 2 GigBEs are what drew me to pick this one! Right til my security cam it gives me control and brilliant media. Multiple printers and a great storage device that can just be everything from storcenter to a security surveil system!
Summary: Got mine about six months ago from amazon. Solid build quality, relatively quiet, and zero problems so far. Using it to stream media to my xbmc box and running VM's off an iSCSI LUN. The only negative is how slow it when building iSCSI LUNs. Not really a huge drawback as I have only done it three times. The only problem I have is that I should have gotten the 8TB!
