Summary: These work well while they last, but we have just had a total data access failure caused by a SINGLE drive failing. This is not what you expect from a RAID system, and therefore I wouldn't recommend this system to anyone.

Summary: It worked just fine till suddenly the hard drive failed to start & my data all locked inside it & they're not recoverable by normal means. The main purpose for this is to be a safe backup, i don't want to have backup for backup thing. Also I struggled a lot with the cloud service & couldn't operate it. Eventually i learnt that they have declared serious issue for the cloud & iomega has not solved till my drive had collapsed.

Summary: I have had this unit for several years now actually I am on my 2nd unit as the manufacturing sent me a new one after I lost all my data 3 times with the 1st unit. most due to hard drive failures. the 2nd unit recovered ONCE when I lost a drive with no issue but again I am on my 3rd total loss of data on this 2nd unit. I keep a backup on a $120 usb seagate drive that has never failed. I don't know why I just don't use that single drive instead of $700 iomega nas.
Summary: There is no means to by pass the motherboard of the unit. If it quits, all data is lost unless you want to spend thousands to retrieve it. Bad unit, bad company. This is the third item I purchased from Iomega that just quit after the warranty is up. You generally don't buy a hard drive to work one year and then quit with no means to retrieve the data.
Summary: This awful device lost ALL of my data. Nothing happened, there was no power outage or network issues, it just decided one day to erase everything. I tried chatting with Lenovo support and they didn't help at all. Then I tried calling Lenovo support and they also were no help at all. So, it's a junky product that's unsupported.
Summary: Device worked fine for a few months, then had regular data consistency issues. Repeated rebuilds for days on end where the rebuild would start, get ~70% thru then fail. Tried to replace it with a new drive, but the new drive wouldn't detect. IOMEGA support said after market drives are not supported. What is the point of having fault tolerance if you can't restore the fault tolerance after a drive failure. Would not recommend.
Summary: This device suffered a single drive failure which resulted in a complete loss of data. I'm about to begin the process of searching out a data recovery service. The quotes I've received so far are $7,000 to $8,000. This is the second Iomega NAS device I've owned which suffered complete loss of data AFTER A SINGLE DRIVE FAILURE. With multiple RAIDed drives in a device, a single drive failure should not even result in a loss of service.
In 3 years it has not been working for more than a few hours

Summary: I am editing this review to say that I originally bought the ix4-200d that is NOT the "Cloud Edition". Then after it was returned and replaced a few times (I lost count), they "upgraded" me to the Cloud Edition. I was hopeful, but alas, no joy -- this latest one started out working, but quit partway through the very first server backup I attempted on it. It probably lasted 6 hours before it croaked. Totally unresponsive.
Summary: We have/had 6 of these units used for backup targets and field file shares. E-V-E-R-Y ONE of them has failed. Four of them in a climate controlled computer room. Drives failing, RAID failures, booting problems, lost data, bad bad BAD. Slow unhelpful 'support' and the replacement parts and units they ship are shipped GROUND. GROUND. Not Air/Next Day/2nd Day. GROUND. Iomega used to be a good company. Not any more. If I could give a negative 5 stars, I would.
