Summary: I was skeptical because there where some bad reviews, but it had (on paper) just what I was looking for: 2 or more external ports, some form of standard filesharing (either SMB or NFS), the ability to backup one drive to another, the ability to spin down the attached drives to prolong their life and...
Pros: Easy to setup and maintain. Standard filesharing (mostly). Good performance on my LAN serving video.
Cons: Transfer speeds should be faster and more consistent.
Summary: For being the only storage device of its kind it gets four stars. If a faster one becomes available I'll jump on it. I use Syncback to backup files to an eGo USB drive. As long as you're not trying to move several GB it works great. Have not tried the wireless connection or a USB printer yet.
Pros: Only device of this kind on the market. I've been looking for a long time. Can manage it through a browser window after initial setup (I did have to download the management software from the web site for initial setup, but it went smooth). Can use internal automatic copy feature to mirror one dri...
Cons: It is S L O W. Takes a long time to copy through the device and between connect drives, even with a USB 3 drive attached (6 to 7 MB/s). I've tried using the media player feature to play a 2 GB AVI directly to a TV, but the picture is choppy (too slow of a transfer rate I guess). I just disconnect...
Summary: I got the device this evening and have only tried to set up, not really do much with it. There are a couple of items: 1) I personally, only wanted to share USB disks across the network and this is seems to do ok. 2) I agree with other reviews - the setup could be better as could the instructions.
Summary: I really like the idea that it makes any USB wire-less, but the cost is speed... It does what it should and for printers it's perfect, but for storage it's a bite slow, but it does work very well and setting it up is very easy.
Summary: This is a great little device if you have the knowledge and skill to set it up correctly. Following initial disappointment I now have this fully working for printers and shared drives. Other items to follow.
