Great NAS

Cory W., Newegg
9 November 2013
  • Pros: This is the second Buffalo TeraStation I have owned. I configured in RAID10 and it has never once had a problem. I have a second Buffalo two drive that backs up this one. I have never had to deal with Buffalo customer service so I can't comment on that. I would recommend this product. Also, I was concerned when I went to purchase that the drives were not intact when shipped. Mine was well packaged (seems like they fixed the drive shipping, packaging issue) with no dri...
  • Cons: None, I would buy another.

Perfect to save datas and share them

Guillen Photo, B&H Photo
14 February 2013
  • Excerpt: This is the second NAS we buy for our business and personal data. We run a small photography company in Texas. We are two professional photographers. We use the NAS to save data and share them thru a local network. All the data are easily and very quickly accessible. We share the NAS thru 4 computers in the office. We have set yp the NAS with RAID 5. The device is very quiet, does not heat, gives a very fast access.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy To Manage, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Highly Compatible

Toss these if you have them

William A., Newegg
2 July 2012
  • Summary: Use these for network scratch space but don't put anything you will miss on them unless you place to run a job to copy them to another device for backups. Learned my lesson and we are dumping all Buffalo products and getting something more reliable.
  • Pros: Good price point if you don't care about unstable services and unreliable backups and recoveries...
  • Cons: Have two of these as well as a couple of the like designed iSCSI units. Total junk. We bought in big last Fall and have discovered that they are very high maintenance and the support people are of no help. Twice we have had units lose a drive and not be able to rebuild a RAID 5. Backup support through local USB is flaky at best. Drops connections to Windows authentication weekly... generally just a pain. Better off putting up a simple linux server or windows 2008 stor...
