Buffalo TeraStation 7120r Enterprise Review

2 January 2014
  • Summary: For businesses looking for a cost-effective storage solution that has the ability to grow as their needs change and expand, Buffalo's TeraStation 7120r Enterprise is worth consideration. That being said, the lack of external expansion could possibly be an issue later on; however the 7120r Enterprise is legitimately speedy with Gigabit Ethernet and 10GbE networks, and compares well pricewise with similar other 12-bay rack appliances on the market.
  • Pros: Good mixed workload performance and value, Easy deployment, 10-Gigabit support
  • Cons: No USB 3.0 Out-of-the-box; costs extra, Sequential transfer speeds slow over iSCSI, No expansion shelves
