Summary: I'm sorry I bought it. Out of the box it's been nothing but a hassle. After doing the firmware upgrades, it still has problems with randomly crashing, disappearing from the network, produce a grey webpage, as well as other crashes at random with the different applications crashing and not restarting. I looked into other firmwares for this device published on third party sites, but they don't have a replacement for this model. I'm an expert on computers.
Summary: This is my second Buffalo drive purchase. It installs easily and Buffalo has a great tech support team if needed. What I did not like is how it was shipped from Amazon. Being a somewhat fragile device, it was delivered in a box bigger than the item with no packing material preventing the drive from being jostled around during shipping. When the shipping box was opened the corner of the drive box had been damaged and I was concerned whether the drive was damaged.
A product has many bugs and Buffalo support almost doesn't exist

Summary: I bought this unit because for last 3 years I had good experience with Buffalo products. I have also LS-CHL link station and was happy with it and decided to buy new one LS410 with 3TB storage. One of my main concerns was to use built-in bittorent client download. I got my unit and started download torrents and found out that after couple of minutes download speed came to 4.5MB and dialog was popped up "Connectivity problem - unable to communicate with your bittorrent...
Summary: idk why, but I have to reboot it every so often. All it is doing is backing up my iMac as a time machine, but it can't seem to keep working without my resetting the power every week or so. I guess buffalo don't think my time is worth anything and I like to mess about with their unreliable product trying to figure out why it keeps breaking: Wrong.
