Summary: I have never had a single problem with this or any other Buffalo NAS. I admit that the web-based management interface leaves a little to be desired, but it gets the job done. Plus if you really hate it, you can root the box almost effortlessly and basically manage it like any other Linux box (Note...
Pros: Extremely small, virtually noiseless, stable, DLNA server, USB Printer support, and it's hackable. Heck, it's a RAID capable NAS that only draws 15W, so you can leave it on all the time without having "Carbon Guilt".
Summary: I do have experience with the linkstation line, and having a moderate size home network. So take the assertion that it just works with a pinch of salt, as I have already tweaked to get good reliability. Nevertheless, this is a box you can unplug, plug in and start using straight away.
Summary: I bought the white version from Amazon.co.uk, excellent service as always. I needed a simple standalone Upnp NAS to stream HQ 24/192 music around the house. The Linkstation mini certainly delivers and is near silent in operation.
Summary: Initially bought the Buffalo LinkStation Mini for backing up data on my home network. Very compact, quiet, and easy to set up. You even forget its there. It also has an automatic switch on the back which enables it to switch off automatically when not in use.
