"Not worth the money"
23 July 2013
Pros: Small footprint
Cons: Horrifically slow. Bought as a backup device. It took over four days to copy a terabyte of data from the unit back to a failed server drive. An external USB hard drive would have been more efficient. A complete waste of time and money.
Summary: Very attractive idea. I bought two as backups. I set then up as 500Gb Raid 1. Both failed within 6 months. One had a motherboard problem. The other had a recurrent disk error which was resolved by reformatting twice but not the third time. Being non user serviceable you cannot replace a failed drive yourself so anything on them is lost. If you have a power cut while they are on they may well need their bios reinstalling. Not difficult but a pain.
