Works well, but has a few glitches

defilm, Amazon
3 September 2014
  • Summary: This drive is running connected to a Cisco 3750 switch (24 ports of 10/100/1000) and it is a business grade layer 3 switch. (It routes and switches packets). The ports are 802.3z compliant, which is the IEEE standard for 1000Tx copper gig. My drive is connected to a GigE port via a 3ft cat 6+ cable.

Majik, Amazon

  • Summary: EDIT 9/20/2011: After three years my LinkStation is still whirring away like it did the day I bought it. Still works perfectly with no problems. EDIT 1/29/2009: This thing just totally saved my data.

Finally, Reliable Backups!

TWM "Tom", Amazon
23 July 2014
  • Summary: This has worked out perfectly for me - I had a USB drive attached to my D-Link router but the software was terrible - or maybe the firmware that was supposed to support the attached devices - in any case it was too unreliable to use for backup.

Not For The Faint-of-Heart

J. C. Jorgensen, Amazon
17 June 2014
  • Summary: Bought this to replace an aging and underpowered Buffalo Cloudstor so I kind of knew what I was getting into. If you don't rate yourself at leat 8.5/10 on a geek scale, I would not recommend it; otherwise go ahead, take it on as a project.

Solid NAS storage

Amazon Customer "biz", Amazon
27 May 2014
  • Summary: I use three of these devices, each configured to RAID 1, giving a terrabyte of mirrored storage. They form an image library and PC backup cluster. My only complaint is that the user interface for management is not that great. It is web based and very very sluggish.

It works

23 April 2014
  • Summary: Initial setup was easy and works great as a Network Attached Storage. It took a little more effort to get the remote access set up, but it was doable. It's worked great for us.

Good Buy for the Price

T. Mason, Amazon
19 April 2014
  • Summary: I have two computers on my primary network and wanted an inexpensive yet reliable NAS to do a backup image for both machines, and regular document backups. There are many options in the way of a NAS. This one fit the bill for my particular purpose.

  • Summary: Overall, a very good product and comes with a nice online interface for remote access. I did have some trouble removing the front faceplate to install the hard drives as the instructions are not very clear.
