Worked better than expected

Summary: Worked better than expected. For the price it has a good number of features and the usb 3.0 is a good plus. I was debating this or a synology but went with the linkstation because of price. No regrets there as I didn't need the fancy gui of a synology and all of the features i wanted were available through the linkstation.
Excerpt: 2 weeks of use and working great. @ 80megs output we are able to stream 2 full 1080p movies over the network while adding files and folders to the station. I did have a netgear which could not handle the same traffic.
Summary: At first I did not know if I was going to like the NAS. It was not the easiest setup, and after a firmware update, the DLNA would not setup, and was causing me all kinds of grief. I installed a 500GB and a 1TB drive in there, for digital content throughout the house, and after a few tweaks and a few hours of frustration, it finally worked and now is a dream machine! Transfers to wired and wireless devices at about 35/Mbs. Plenty to stream music and digital content.
Summary: I love the fast write speed. 53 MB/sec or more. Transfer rate increased to 67MB/sec when using Beyond Compare 4 instead of Windows to transfer files. I have never seen these speeds on my other NAS boxes. The only con so far is that it took more than 48 hours to sync two 4TB WDC RED drives to raid1. But I can live with that given the fast write speed after sync was complete. I am only using as network attached storage.
Summary: 11/19 UPDATE After some trial and error and finding a tech agent who understood apple products I can now report that I am very pleased with this product. It is doing exactly what I wanted it to do and I've upped the rating to 5 stars from 3. I've been able to copy my entire itunes library to the unit. I also have both mine and my wife's macbook's backing up with Time Machine directly to the unit. The bugs I was having with the web access have also been resolved.
Summary: If you are not comfortable with looking up arcane data in FAQs, help sections, online forums, this may not be the NAS you are looking for. I have 2 x 4tb cool spins in my first NAS, works on my androids and TVs. This new NAS has 1 x 4tb greendrive, and it serves media well, albeit on a separate network. My two NAS are not on the same network. Just set up and test for the second NAS alone, was non-trivial.
Pros: Hard to beat 2 bay NAS pricepoint. My first LS421DE has been up and serving trouble free over a year. This is my second one. It works well over my Win network and also my DLNA portables, TV, and blueray.
Cons: The provided NAS Navigator software for device set up and administration could be a bit easier to use. Not a deal - killer, It is workable.
