Summary: So far it has been working really well. I have been playing with all the features, and there are a lot. So I am still figuring out how to do everything I want to. But so far I am really happy. The help has been good and the online interface is very easy to use.
Incredible! Simplest to Setup & Use! Love this 8 Drive Solution at a Reasonable Price
Primobase! "Primobase!", Amazon
1 March 2015
Summary: Love this 8 Drive Solution at a Reasonable Price. It was super easy to install and setup. I've built or installed over 3 dozens PCs and Servers over the years and this one was by far the simplest, quickest, easiest, and no pain involved.
Summary: Got mine elsewhere at 30% less cost. Got it to replace a Windows LGA 775 system and Highpoint 2720 SGL. Asustor is not as multi-functional but it's more compact. No initial setup issues but sometimes is not "seen" by my computer and I have to run the Asustor Control Center and overwrite the Internet...
Pros: Works well with WD Red 6TB's Massive storage Suitable for archiving Easy-to-use Compact
Cons: Only 1 GB RAM Approved RAM Modules expensive Difficulty connecting sometimes Pre-installed folders can't be removed
Summary: Got this to house my web server, and bought a 6TB WD red drive to go with it. Got my 5.46tb of space off of it, and just added a second drive. Left it running overnight and I'm running RAID 1 now. I plan on ordering 2-3 more and going to Raid 5. Outstanding unit, can't say enough about it.
Summary: Until Asustor gets some US based support or can respond to issues within less than 3 weeks, avoid the brand. Products that cost over 2,000 with drives should have better support options available.
Pros: Relatively easy setup, intuitive interface, fast in iSCSI mode
Cons: Product failed in less than 90 days. Three different times it magically reset it's networking configuration and the third time it refuses to accept static or DHCP addressing, and I can't access the box. RMA has been a painful process as they only reply in the middle of the night, and it's a one-m...
Gives Synology a run for its money and a great, affordable alternative
3 December 2014
Summary: I am a long time owner of a Synology 1812+ and have used several different NAS boxes the last few years from QNAP, Thecus and Western Digital. The Synology has been rock solid and worked without a single issue.
Excerpt: This Unit makes Nas easy to do, setting up hard drives, user acount control with passwords and acessing data stored on unit could not be any easyer. The asustor is fast at file transfers to and from the unit, The USB 3.0 gets great speeds too.
