Two floors down, expect very slow connection speeds.

Summary: I live in a home with multiple levels, and used an ASUS, RT-N56U, previous to getting the Time Capsule. In addition to being less expensive, the ASUS router had a much better range. For what Apple charges, Time Capsule should work a lot better.
Pros: Works OK as wireless HD for back-up with Time Machine.
Cons: Very slow connection speeds (10 fold reduction in download speed), unless you are sitting in the same room as the Time Capsule.
Excerpt: My daughter does web pages and editing for a new film company. She did the research and decided to return her capsule due to the build up in heat of the unit and the stated problem that if the computer user doesn't catch that their computer has crashed, your next SAVE may be result in nothing being stored! Therefore you are likely to loose your data that you previously stored. For the price, she can get memory more reasonably and regularly backs up her own data.
Summary: I bought time capsule fairly early after the release. It was easy to set up and to configure. However after a while I started getting errors and coudn't do more backups. Looking for solutions I found it's not an isolated problem. and many others have experiencing it. Eventually I deleted the old backups and a lot of other information and started over. Very unreliable, but it's good thinking on apple's part.
