Excerpt: No regrets. Glad we went forward with purchase. Looking to replace an 8-year old router and came across this fantastic product. Get wifi in all the rooms of the house now. The back-up hard drive is icing on the cake. We love our Apple products.
Pros: Backs Up Your Computer, Good range, Sleek design
Apple® AirPort Time Capsule™ 2TB by Appl, Staples

Excerpt: I am not real familiar with Apple products but have started a new job and this Real Estate office is all Apple. We are in need of a backup system that will back up our files and protect our business. We just purchased this product and I am very excited to see how well it functions for us. One of our other employees uses the Air port Time Capsule in his home office and swears by it.
Summary: This is a great product! This is the second one I have bought. They first I bought about a year ago from Apple and have been so pleased with it I decided to buy another. 4TB is more than enough for my needs. I use one for my iMac and the other for Macbook Pro. It is simple to hook up and has the potential to increase your speeds. The range is unbelievable. My house is about 3k sq feet and I had no problem getting great coverage from the one unit.
Excerpt: This is replacement for my Linksys router, I have been replacing one every year. Even though it's a little expensive I figured it's worth the money. I had a little diffiuculty connecting it but after a couple of tries it got connected. This air time capsule is more powerful than all the routers I had in the last few years.
Excerpt: I was using a different type of external hard drive that didn't work well with my Macintosh computer. I purchased this hoping it would solve my problems. It did. I am now able to save all my files, pictures, videos, internal revenue file of the past and future. It does an automatic download if I choose to set it up that's at.
Summary: The easiest router to set up I've ever worked with. If you own other Apple products, you're off and running after 3-5 clicks after plugging it in. Super fast and strong signal. Time Machine will automatically recognize it on your network - backups are automatic after the initial backup. Perhaps the only con is that the internal hard drive can't be partitioned...not through the setup assistant at least. If you're comfortable creating images, this can be done manually.
Summary: Don't be scared. You can do it. Creating/modifying your home wifi system is actually easy when you get the right pieces. And if you use Apple products, to quote their ads, "they just work". And they do. I have struggled for years to have a seamless wifi network in my house. The construction and layout of my home is such that I cannot get adequate signal strength throughout with a single base station.
Great when working, but mine went down after 1 year

Summary: Went on the fritz after less than a year. I started receiving the "double NAT" problem, I replaced my modem and worked with my internet provider before realizing it was the apple time capsule. Apple store replaced it quickly with a new one. When it's up it's great. The device is frustrating when down and with limited accessibility to settings it's nearly impossible to problem solve yourself. Apple Genius bar staff said basically the same thing.
