Bluetooth with a Dongle

BT from Texas, Crutchfield
9 January 2015
  • Summary: This is an absolute great addition for an Onkyo receiver without built in blue tooth. Plug and play into the USB port, connect the bluetooth device and control your music from a distance without having to keep walking to the receiver. Super easy to use and Crutchfield had the best price of anybody.
  • Pros: Plug and Play Easy to use Saves trips to the receiver to change music
  • Cons: None

Works well, short range

Aetyrno, Crutchfield
3 January 2015
  • Summary: I didn't experience any pairing trouble like other reviewers. Plugged it in, hit 'enter' to make it visible for pairing, and paired directly to my Android phone. Range is disappointing when plugged into the back of my TX-NR818. Intermittently drops connection within 15 feet.

Onkyo UBT-1

Ferdinand, Crutchfield
18 December 2014
  • Summary: Good alternative for the price. Worth it once I got it paired to my iphone.
  • Pros: Clear reception within 30 feet even if device is obstucted. But iphone should be to the front of the receiver.
  • Cons: Pairing my iphone took at least 30 minutes. Instruction straight forward but I had to rely on various tips on line to make it work right.

Took some time, but it works well

  • Summary: It took four or five tries over an hour or so before I could get it to pair. Once it was recognized by my iPhone it has worked perfectly. A nice feature to add to my receiver.
