Simple Solution to have a wired internet connection

TM, Amazon
26 February 2015
  • Summary: I needed a solution to hard wire my "Smart TV" because the wireless internet signal was weak in that location. I also wanted to have a wired connection to the Direct TV Box and Blu Ray player. Plugged it in near my router in the basement and another one upstairs, hooked it up to another router and connected all my equipment and it works great providing good speed also. Streams Netflix and HBO to Go flawlessly. Set-up was a breeze, plus it includes two CAT 5 cables.

Save yourself from the spiders.

Blacksheep, Amazon
20 February 2015
  • Summary: This is an outstanding item. If the walls in my house blocked sound as well as they blocked wifi, I'd be the picture of serenity. But no.. I have the 50 meg speed from Comcast which normally translates to more like 30mbps in the house for me. Here in my back room where I need it most, the signal came through blowing my hair back at about 8 to 12 mbps. Yeah.

The wifi works great and the settings allow you to use the same ...

R.K., Amazon
16 February 2015
  • Summary: I used this to extend to my shop, which is 175 feet behind the house, so this was the least expensive option. Setup takes some time as do most thing with networking. The wifi works great and the settings allow you to use the same wifi network settings as the house, therefore a seamless transition for devices or create a new wifi network. The connection to the house is sketchy (looses internet) at times for reasons I cannot figure out (perhaps the distance of wire).

Works great

  • Excerpt: Did what I needed. I had an ATT microcell for our cell phones and where our internet modem had to be, we couldn't register to the satellite, so being able to move the micro cell to where we needed it, was fantastic. Didn't know something like this existed.

  • Excerpt: I needed a way to have a direct ethernet cable to my Access Point without running a cable around the corners and throught the stairs on the last floor of the house. Because the ethernet port is located in the backside of the floor I was thinking to install an Access Point in the very center to cover all that space and problably the next level and lucky for me there was an outlet perfectly located where I need it.

Great for wired devices

Pdarrell, Staples
31 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Fast access to your local network and Internet.Easy setup and fits with existing devices.I always get the Netgear devices and they have gotten smaller every time.Love these devices. If you have broadband faster than what your wireless can provide for desktop computers these devices give the extra speed needed.

Check your wiring before considering purchase!

Amarillo Bear, Amazon
24 January 2015
  • Summary: Probably works fine in a new home with new wiring. When I can get it connected (operative word here is WHEN) it performs well. The problem is I have a older home with old style curcuits. Aparently if both devices are not on the same curcuit breaker, it is almost impossible to connect the two. I spend hours making a connection, only to have it disconnect in a matter of days.
