The touchpad is very, very small, so I bought a microsoft usb wirelsee mini mouse. I also bought a lite-on usb slim dvd burner, a set of logitech usb speakers and a usb to serial cable for setting up switches at work. The whole setup works very well and it all packs away in a small over the shoulder napsack for a complete pc on the go. Another 1 gigabite of ram would really make this sing, but I guess you can't expect too much for this price. Read more
Sylvania GNET13001 7 Netbook PC 4 I ordered this little notebook about 3 weeks ago, and as soon as it arrived, had it connected to the internet in about 5 minutes. But after a short while, it started dropping the connection. I would reconnect, and it would drop the connection again. If I am within 10 feet of my router, it works fine, but having to be that close defeats the purpose of being wireless. Read more

I received my Sylvania notebook but it was not preloaded with any OS, I attempted to load a Linux OS, Ubuntu Remix on, but that crashed during installation, I then attempted Windows XP which also blue-screened and even Windows 7 which actually completes the loading process but upon reboot for the first time, goes to a black screen stating that 'Operating System not found". I've tried to redo the MBR thinking that this might be corrupt (even though there's never been anything loaded onto it) but to no avail. Any help?

How do you reload OS? I have the CD but the labtop had no cdrom reader.

You need to either make a bootable usb flash stick or you need to plug in an external cd rom and boot from that. U can easily make a bootable linux os flash stick (wintoflash is a good option, you can just google that for windows installations) and ubuntu remix (google the following 'unetbootin-windows-408.exe' for linux installations). hope this
